English Studies: Linguistic, Literary, and Cultural Studies

• Help students better transition and adapt to university life
•  Establish and strengthen the ethos of academic learning for students    
• Improve students’ skills of speaking, writing, listening, and reading.
• Develop students’ levels of accuracy and fluency in English language.
• Enrich students’ knowledge of different literatures and cultures of the world.
• Introduce students to classical and contemporary theories of culture, film and translation
• Improve students’ life, interpersonal, and soft skills
• Equip students with necessary language and knowledge to pursue further graduate courses of English on national and international levels.
• Acquaint students with cross-cultural situations and help them solve the problems accordingly
• Stimulate students’ dreams and aspirations on further opportunities of cultural exchange, e-learning, studentships, and grants in world universities.
• Introduce students to vocational, professional, and  occupational life upon graduation. 

Débouchés de la formation :

A Licence degree shall open a variety of academic as well as professional opportunities for students. The English Studies graduates may be able to join positions in the fields of education as tutors and educators. The opportunities are extended to other labor sectors such as tourism, NGOs, government positions, translation and interpretation companies, and other public or private organisms concerned with communication, culture, marketing, media content development, and journalism. Given the status of English language as a lingua franca, graduates of this training will have the chance to be hired by international/multinational companies with an intercultural and interdisciplinary scope of labor.

Specifically, the English Studies graduates may fill in such positions as:

• Cultural ambassadors
• Media and Cinema agencies managers/critics 
• Language facilitators
• Professional Interpreters and translators
• Subtitling / dubbing specialists
• Communication agents
• Journalists/correspondents 
• NGOs linguistic/cultural assistants
• Private tutors of English
• Researchers in Applied Language and Humanities
